This weekend I went to a race camp at Copper Mountain. I'd been off skis for over a month. So, a day before the race camp I skied Arapahoe Basin (A-Basin) to warm up, find my feet and my balance.
With a summit elevation of 13,050 feet, the Arapahoe Basin sports the highest skiable terrain in North America. For that reason, every few years A-Basin remains open as late as July 4th.
A view of A-Basin from the lift. The snow was heavy, wet and sporadic, but I always like coming here. A-Basin has a different character than most other places in Colorado. Always cozy and has some excellent terrain.
